What currency should I bring to North Cyprus?
In Northern Cyprus, the main currency is the Turkish lira, but in all shops or restaurants you can also pay with EUR, USD and GBP (British pound). The only point is that when calculating EUR or USD, the change will be given to you already in TRY (Turkish lira). And the rate will be slightly different than in exchange offices. Coming to the TRNC with the Russian ruble is a big mistake. Since local exchangers will not understand our “papers” 🙂 Take a pound of sterling with you – you won’t go wrong!
How much do products cost in local stores?
In order to avoid disputes regarding prices in stores. We will write an average price. For example, in Moscow there is “Azbuka Vkusa” – a fairly expensive grocery store and “Auchan” with budget prices. And the prices there will be radically different from each other. Also consider such a concept as seasonality. In another period of time, the same products may be an order of magnitude cheaper or more expensive. What is the average bill in restaurants in Northern Cyprus?
The average bill in a restaurant depends, first of all, on the restaurant itself. There are both expensive and medium-priced ones. For example, in cheap cafes and restaurants for 80-120 lira, it is quite possible to have a good lunch. We offer a list of approximate prices:

In Northern Cyprus, the catering network is very widely developed. Eating “on the street” is very tasty and not dangerous. Restaurants of a higher level, especially of a thematic nature, with excellent musical accompaniment or with colorful local oriental dances, are already more expensive. Prices will start from approximately 25-30 euros per person.
Cost of visiting the main attractions of the TRNC
The cost of a ticket to visit attractions in Northern Cyprus: for adults, for example, from 10 to 20 TRY, depending on the museum, for children under 12 years old, admission to museums is free. The entrance fee for students studying in the TRNC is 7-10 TRY.

- In Iskele, for example, the Museum of Icons, the Incinli Plaster Cave, the Wishing Tree near the cave, and the Kantara Castle.
- On the Karpas there is the Church of Panagia Kanakaria, the Church of St. Thyrs, the Monastery of the Apostle Andrew, the Monastery of St. Philo and the Basilica of the Holy Trinity.
- In Famagusta, there is the ancient city of Salamis, the monastery of the Apostle Barnabas, the walled city of Famagusta or Maraş (Varosha).
- In Kyrenia, the Kyrenia Fortress, St. Catherine’s Castle. Hilarion, Bellapais Abbey.
- In Guzelyurt – Mavi Koshk, the ancient city of Soloi, the monastery of St. Mamasa, Archaeological Museum, Vouni Castle.
- In Nicosia, there is the Buyuk Khan Inn, the Selemiye Mosque, Bedesten, and the Dervish Pasha House-Museum.
