The exhibition “Stories from the Earth” opened at the Rüstem Bookstore

The exhibition “Stories from the Earth” opened yesterday in the Rüstem bookstore. It consists of ceramic pieces created in the workshop of Ayhatun Ateshin and was organized by the Alashia Terracotta Art Association to meet art lovers.

According to the information provided, at the opening of the exhibition, a flute performance of musician Ibrahim Özbashkın took place.

Ayhatun Ateshchin, speaking at the opening, said: “We held our first exhibition in the 90s in the Dervish Pasha mansion. Later, there were several more attempts, but the creation process never stopped. I always kept what I did. It seems that this day was the very moment,” describing the exhibition as an “exhibition of gratitude.”

In her speech, BRTK Director Meryem Özkurt emphasized the cultural contribution of Ateščyn over the years and her meticulous approach as a curator. Özkurt said: “Like digging a well with a needle, she uncovered many objects stored in the BRTK archives. Thanks to her pedagogical role and artistic vision, she gave the institution direction and content.”

One of the students who took part in the event, Pınar Bashman, said: “Ayhatun-hocha taught us not only ceramics, but also how to think, tolerate and appreciate co-creation.”

The opening of the exhibition was held jointly with Aykhatun Ateshchin’s students aged 7 to 12 years.

The exhibition can be visited until August 6, and all income from it will be donated to the SOS Children’s Village.
