Villa Latomia has been restored and inaugurated.
The restoration of Villa Latomia, which was completed in cooperation with the Deputy Prime Minister, the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment, the Department of Antiquities and Museums and Özyalçın Construction, was officially inaugurated today at a solemn ceremony.
History of Villa Latomia
Located in Girne and built in 1933, Villa Latomia was used as the Museum of Fine Arts from 1975 to 2010 but has been in a state of disrepair since 2022. As part of the protocol signed with entrepreneur Yağmur Özyalçın in October 2022, the building has been completely restored and will now function as a house of culture and art.
“Villa Latomia is a heritage that gives our country a special value. All these achievements are a message to the world. We did not get this civilization just like that, we work, produce, share, and, at the same time, preserve our history and heritage,” Tatar said.
