SOS Children’s Village: “Every child has the right to love and safety”

The SOS Children’s Village Association, in its appeal published on the occasion of June 1 – International Children’s Day, once again reminded of the importance of respecting and protecting the rights of every child. The message says: “We believe that growing up children in a safe, loving and supportive environment is not a privilege, but a fundamental right.” The association stressed that this day is an important occasion to remind society of the voice, needs and rights of children, especially in the face of modern challenges.

Special attention was paid to the problems faced by children in the country: cases of violence and neglect, economic hardship, lack of access to psychological assistance and a weak social protection system. These factors, as emphasized, limit the ability of children to develop and feel safe. “Every child should be able to live in an environment that promotes their physical, emotional and mental development. Only in this way can we build a more just and sustainable society,” the statement says. The association called on all structures of society – from the authorities to families – to unite actions for the future of children.
