Rector of the Eastern Mediterranean University (DAÜ), Professor Hasan Kılıç, was a guest of the “Morning with Youth” program on Kıbrıs Genç TV, where he discussed the new academic year, the state of higher education and the prospects of DAÜ. He stressed that tourism and education are key factors in the economy of Northern Cyprus, and DAÜ, with more than 78 thousand graduates, serves as a “gateway to the world” for the region, playing an important role in employment, science and international reputation.

Professor Kılıç emphasized the need for a quality approach to higher education, including the planning and control of infrastructure, dormitories and the number of students. He noted the importance of creating an image of a “student-friendly” island, which requires not only the efforts of universities, but also the strategic plans of the government. He also mentioned the success of DAÜ in attracting 73% of students without scholarships and called for making the state scholarship policy a priority, as is customary in Europe, highlighting 46 years of experience and the digital transformation of the university, including the launch of the first artificial intelligence center in Cyprus.
