In Northern Cyprus, the season for releasing turtles into the sea is coming to an end.
The charity organization “Cyprus Marine Life Karsiyaka” protected 72 nests and released a record number of babies.
We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the season at Karsiyaka Beach. 72 nests were laid and protected,” animal rights activists noted on their page in social networks.
The organization thanked the volunteers who worked under the scorching sun, guarding the nests.
Also this year, 66 “named” nests appeared in Northern Cyprus thanks to the “Name the Nest” campaign.
The work of volunteers on Karpaz is still ongoing, turtles continue to hatch there.
Recall that recently in Lapta at the Caretta Caretta festival, turtles were released into the sea after treatment.
