Young people from Iskele created a drone for pest control
Within the scope of the Girne Arkın Group Fest 25, the second day of the 17th Pekmez Festival was held in Ozankoy, filled with events in the fields of art, culture and music. The festival will end tonight.
The Robotics Training Project, implemented jointly by Iskele Traders and Artisans Union (İEZB) and Telsim, has developed an environmentally friendly technology that will reduce the dependence of agriculture on chemicals. The “Autonomous Drone for Pest Control” created by young people has successfully passed the first field tests.
Developed under the leadership of President Serkan Kırmız and instructor Emre Rifat Yıldız, the drone made its first flight without any problems after testing the equipment. Now the project team has moved to the stage of developing software for recognizing pests based on artificial intelligence. In this way, the drone will be able to autonomously detect pests in agricultural areas and offer environmentally friendly methods to control them.
