The leaders decided to create a Bicommunal Committee on Youth Affairs.

TRNC President Ersin Tatar and Greek Cypriot leader Nikos Christodoulides agreed at a meeting in the buffer zone to establish a Bi-Community Technical Committee for Youth Affairs. It will include 12 representatives from each side under 35 years old, taking into account gender equality. The lists of participants will be submitted to the UN by April 15. The leaders also discussed the work of the Environment Committee, which will study the impacts of mining activities and climate change, while the Cultural Heritage Committee will focus on the restoration of cemeteries.

Issues of demining, the operation of checkpoints and the construction of a solar power plant in the buffer zone were also discussed. The Special Envoys of the parties will continue negotiations to find mutually acceptable solutions. The meeting lasted an hour and a half and was attended by the head of the UN Mission in Cyprus (UNFICYP) Colin Stewart. Before the talks, the leaders took a joint photo with members of the Committee on Missing Persons (CMP), expressing support for its work.

Following the meeting, a joint statement was issued stressing the importance of continuing dialogue and interaction between communities. The leaders confirmed their intention to work on environmental initiatives, safety measures and the development of youth programs. The next meeting will be held in the near future, at which it is planned to consider further steps to implement the agreements.
