The Ministry of National Defense of Turkey (MSB) has announced a large-scale music program in honor of Republic Day, which will be held on October 29. Brass band concerts are planned in several cities in Turkey, as well as in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC). In a message from the ministry posted on social media, citizens and visitors to the country are invited to join the festivities, accompanied by a holiday calendar.
The first musical meeting took place in Konak Square in Izmir, and the program will end on November 2 with a concert at 15:00 at the Maritime Museum in Istanbul. In the TRNC, concerts will be held in Güzelyurt, Lefka and Girne: the opening will take place on October 29 at 09:30 in Güzelyurt’s Atatürk Square, then at 11:30 the orchestra will perform in Lefk’s Atatürk Square, and the final performance is scheduled for 15:00 in Girne.
