Iskele Metropolitan Municipality entered into a twinning agreement with Yenişehir Metropolitan Municipality, which became its 11th sister city. The protocol was signed at a ceremony held in the building of the Iskele municipality. Mayor of Iskele Hasan Sadıkoğlu and Mayor of Yenişehir Abdullah Özyğit emphasized that the friendship between the cities began long before the official formalization of relations.
During the ceremony, Hasan Sadikoglu expressed hope that the brotherhood and cooperation between the cities will only strengthen. He noted that this agreement will create new opportunities for dialogue, exchange of ideas and implementation of joint projects. Abdullah Ozyigit, in turn, said that twinning will benefit the residents of both cities and will become the basis for the further development of mutual ties.
The event was attended by members of the municipalities of Iskele and Yenişehir, representatives of culture and business, as well as the Association of Turkish-Arab and European Businessmen. The participants expressed confidence that the new agreement will be an important step in strengthening friendship between the cities.
