Within the scope of the Girne Arkın Group Fest 25, the second day of the 17th Pekmez Festival was held in Ozankoy, filled with events in the fields of art, culture and music. The festival will end tonight.
According to the statement, the second day of the events started at 19:00 with a presentation on the life of the poet Osman Türkaya, where Leman Özdoğanoğlu, a member of the Osman Türkaya Foundation, spoke. Then, the folklore dance group of the People’s Art Society (HASDER) performed on the stage, and after that, the audience was pleased with the songs of the artist Can Barış. This was followed by a performance by the folklore dance group of the Orak Cultural, Artistic and Educational Center (OKSEM), and the event ended with a performance by Sardar Kavaz and his orchestra.
Tonight in Ozankoy!
The 17th Ozankoy Pekmez Festival will end tonight. The evening program will begin at 19:00 with a dessert competition with pekmez, including the reception and evaluation of desserts. At 19:15, agronomist engineer Mehmet Atak will give a presentation on the topic “The carob tree is one of the oldest heritage of the earth and its history”. This will be followed by a dance performance by the Northern Cyprus Filipino Association at 7:30 PM and a concert by Ebru and Amor Latino at 7:45 PM. At 8:45 p.m., the Çatalköy-Esentepe Municipality Folklore Dance Group “Nostalgia” will take the stage. At 21:00, the results of the dessert competition with pekmez will be announced. The festival will end at 9:15 p.m. with the final concert of Ibrahim Özbashkın, Zek and their orchestra.
