At dizzying heights against the backdrop of the Swiss Alps, slackliners compete in speed and stunt skills. The canton of Graubünden hosts the World Highline Championship. This year, 42 athletes are participating. Men and women compete in two disciplines – freestyle and high-speed highline. German Cecilia Stock won both and won two championship titles. In the slackline race, Stock beat her rival from Brazil, overcoming the 60-meter stretch of the slackline in 52.42 seconds. In the freestyle competition, the German defeated the Frenchwoman by performing complex tricks, including somersaults. Among men, the German Sasha Grill won in the high-speed highline. He set a new record by completing the race in 26.76 seconds. And the Spaniard David Palomo became the world champion in freestyle. Last year, he lost in skill to American Davis Hermes, but this time he took revenge. The championship lasts five days. The slings are stretched at an altitude of more than 2200 meters above sea level. The first tournament was held in 2022.
