In Rio de Janeiro, 2,000 runners helped collect food for the poor.
There are still two months before Christmas, and everyone is already preparing for the holiday. A race was dedicated to the upcoming celebration, and a charity one. Citizen Action, a local non-profit organization, is raising money for groceries for low-income Brazilian families.
According to statistics, last year, 64 million Brazilians experienced food shortages to one degree or another.

: “This is a special event because many families will receive basic food packages. So if you can help by participating in the race, then I’m participating.”
Such charity races have been held in Rio de Janeiro since 1993.
