Lefke hosts the 15th annual Walnut Festival, organized in cooperation with the municipality and the Lefke Tourism Association. The event is aimed at promoting walnut products and increasing their economic value. The festival opened with a parade and a ceremonial ribbon cutting by the players of the Lefke Türk Spor Külübü club, the winners of the 2025 KTRSK Federation Cup. Welcoming speeches were made by representatives of the team, Mayor of Lefke Aziz Kaya and Chairman of the Tourism Association Hasan Karlataş, emphasizing the importance of supporting the traditional production and cultural heritage of the region.
The festival takes place in the central part of Lefke under the motto “Lefke is special on a holiday” and is accompanied by a rich program. Guests will enjoy performances by folklore and school dance groups, as well as a variety of exhibitions: handicrafts, paintings, photographs, classic bicycles and creative works of students. On the shelves are walnut products, traditional dishes and drinks of Cypriot cuisine. The event lasts all day and gathers more and more interest and support from local residents and guests of the city.
