The town of Sisters in the US state of Oregon is considered a paradise for fans of patchwork. For the 49th time, an open-air exhibition of patchwork quilts is held here. 1000 products are hung throughout the city. They were created by 300 craftsmen aged 7 to 94 years. Not only Americans participate in the exhibition. Craftsmen from Canada and Australia also came. There are no high requirements for the skill of the participants. Someone demonstrates their first patchwork quilt, and someone, perhaps, has been engaged in patchwork for 40 years and also participates in the exhibition. But still, there is one condition: the product should not promote anyone’s views, especially on the eve of the presidential elections in the United States. You can participate in the exhibition free of charge. They don’t take money from guests either. Every year, 10,000 people come to the event. By the way, patchwork quilts are also sewn by men. Among them is the wife of the director of the exhibition. For many years, he watched his wife create beautiful products, and three years ago he decided to try it too. The exhibition was founded in 1975 by the owner of a patchwork quilt store, Jean Wells. Next summer, an anniversary event will be held in Sisters.
