Many people will now say: “uu… I will be without memory on January 1” 🙂 Yes, this may be true, but in the evening you will want, in any case, to “stretch your bones”, go somewhere and take a little walk. New Year in North Cyprus
About 1 month before the holiday itself, New Year’s gifts, home decorations and various costumes or sweets for children appear on the shelves. In the houses, almost all of them have artificial Christmas trees. The only thing is that if someone grows a Christmas tree himself, then yes, you will feel this smell in the houses. Otherwise, no! Deforestation is prohibited here. This is not Mother Russia 🙂 During the holidays, for example, 2 weeks before the New Year, there is little activity in the city. People buy champagne, wines, sweets or gifts for relatives or friends. You will not see such a stir as in Russia here.
Decorations of cities
Cities, as in Russia, are decorated in advance. But let’s say right away – modestly. You will not see garlands of several kilometers or lights and volleys of firecrackers everywhere. Everything here is much simpler and homely or something… But on the central streets you can see many small and decorated Christmas trees or palm trees. There are garlands along the roads too, but not in such huge quantities as we have “over the hill”, well, there in Russia 🙂 Of course, shop windows are also decorated with snowflakes, Christmas trees. But the presence of palm trees, cacti and the absence of snow – coordinates the situation. But when you come to Northern Cyprus, you find yourself in the season of tangerines, oranges and other citrus fruits. And the smell of fresh tangerines is familiar to every Russian – this is the smell of the New Year! Our Russian… 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂
Corporate parties and festivities
Many corporate parties begin on the 20th of December. They take place in restaurants, casinos and other venues on the island. It is not customary here, as in Russia, to throw money together for a restaurant. Such celebrations are usually organized by the company itself. And all employees are given small gifts and letters of gratitude! Isn’t that great?!?! Most often, a cozy restaurant with live music and traditional Turkish cuisine is chosen for corporate parties. And if you manage to spend New Year’s Eve in the casino, then this is one of the fun places where the team can spend time. After all, every casino is thoroughly preparing for this holiday: imported stars of Russian, Turkish and world pop music are provided for you! And the tables there are bursting with various delicacies and viands 🙂 🙂 🙂
New Year’s Eve
On New Year’s Eve in North Cyprus, the island is quite quiet and peaceful. Here you will not hear screams, exploding fireworks and firecrackers in the streets. But despite this, the feeling of celebration is still present. By the way, it is absolutely safe in the cities – you can safely walk. On the streets, you will not meet drunk people who will harass you. On New Year’s Eve, it is very difficult to find a free restaurant in the TRNC. All seats are booked in advance. Everyone loves live music very much. You won’t find singing people with a phonogram here! New Year’s Eve in North Cyprus is a celebration of peace and tranquility. It is not customary here to stand at the stove from 30 to 31, and then gorge on January 1-2 and 3. Many people like to just spend time with friends or in a café/restaurant. There are, of course, families who celebrate the New Year at home, but there are not so many of them.
