Rules for entering through Southern Cyprus

If you go through South Cyprus, you will only need to cross the border inside the island. There are no direct messages from the Russian Federation in the light of recent events. At the time of (March 4, 2022), Southern Cyprus plans to discuss the repeal of the EU decision to ban aircraft from visiting Cyprus. “We reserved such a right,” the country’s Foreign Ministry said. New pro-visas are not issued now. For example, holders of a valid multiple-entry Schengen visa (the period of stay should not exceed 90 days within a 180-day period) or a national visa of Southern Cyprus can enter. In addition, all holders of two or multiple entry visas of Bulgaria, Romania and Croatia also have the right to enter South Cyprus as well. Remember, Ukraine/Russia and Belarus are now in the red category of countries. This means that all unvaccinated/non-ill passengers 12+ are required to provide a PCR test 72 hours in advance. And then, upon arrival in the country, take another test at your own expense. Also, do not forget to fill out the CyprusFlightPass.

Weather in North Cyprus

When is the best time to visit North Cyprus? It all depends on your preferences… Some people like the heat of +40°C, while others like the temperate weather and the warm, velvety sea. There are 4 seasons in our strips (Ukraine, Russia and Belarus). These are spring, summer, autumn and winter. And in Northern Cyprus, if I may say so, two are summer and winter. Summer lasts from mid-April to the end of October, and the rest of the months are considered winter. The winter climate is quite mild, as during the day it reaches +20-25°C, and in the early morning and evening, when the sun hides behind the mountains, +8-15°C. And since the sea is in close proximity, it is quite chilly and cool. The most velvety season is considered to be April and May, as well as September and October. Since the sun does not scorch everything in the area. Who likes the heat, then you are welcome: the end of May, June, July and August are your months! The temperature during the day can reach 40-50 ° C in the open sun.

Cuisine of Northern Cyprus

The cuisine of the TRNC is a unique mixture of several styles and even eras of culinary art. The basis is, of course, Turkish cuisine with traditional oriental methods of cooking meat, flour products, rice and a variety of sweets. First of all, the cuisine of the TRNC makes extensive use of olive oil, cow’s/sheep’s milk cheese and a lot of fresh fish. Along with the Turkish style, the proximity of the so-called Levant – the eastern coast of the Mediterranean Sea – and Greece – also had an influence. This includes many different “mezes”, which are indispensable for any lunch or dinner.

Culture of Northern Cyprus

It is generally accepted that the local culture is unique. Since it was influenced not only by epochs and conquests, which brought here many distinctive architectural features. But also the manner of dressing, speaking – up to habits and a measured lifestyle. Here the unusual word “tomorrow” has magical properties 🙂 Everything should be calm, unhurried and without unnecessary jerks. The TRNC has also been influenced by British culture and laws. By the way, traffic is on the left, unlike in Turkey. Like in the UK and Japan. And due to the hot climate, many places may be closed in the afternoon.

Example…

Even in government agencies, you may not find people with whom you can talk about paying utility bills, etc. Everyone has their own way of life, which is respected by everyone in the area. Many strangers on the street can say hello to you – that’s okay. Incidents such as theft or kidnapping are very rare. Cars and houses are rarely locked here. The sea and the mountains whisper: “Stay with us, boy, and you will be our king” ?
